“Mežābeles – Straumēni” – 3D render
Latvian novelist Edvarts Virza wrote book “Straumēni” because he wanted to freeze his home in that period of time. While reading the book I’ve allways made parallels with my own home – “Mežābeles”, because usually I imagine books through objects and places that are familiar to me. Talks about selling my own home made me want to freeze it in time and make some sort of an art project.
I finally did it years later in 2020, combining what I read in”Straumēni” with the location of my own home “Mežābeles”.

Mysthics, conjurers and clairvoyants in Latvia aren’t rare and with harder times the more people try to find support in them. I can’t say if spirit world or mystics exist, but I think it’s hard to believe in people who are taking the last money from retired seniors and sick people, and who can’t find a person who’s right in front of them.
